These terms apply to the Maziwa app and this website. They are written to be read.

1. What Maziwa is
Maziwa is a free record book for dairy farmers. It helps you record milk, breeding events and costs, and does the sums for you. There is no account and no payment.
2. Using Maziwa
- You may use the app and this website for your own farm, your family, your group or your co-operative.
- You are responsible for what you record and for keeping your own copy. Use the Excel export to back up your records.
- Do not misuse the website or the community share, for example by sending false numbers, sending shares in bulk, or trying to break or overload our servers.
3. Advice is general, not a diagnosis
Breeding dates are calculated from common averages (for example a 21-day heat cycle and 283 days from service to calving). Every cow is different. Always confirm with your vet or AI technician.
Farm tips and guides are general advice. They are not veterinary, medical, legal or financial advice. If an animal seems sick, call your vet.
The feeding guide is a rule of thumb, not a ration. Days not to sell milk after a treatment come from the drug label or your vet; Maziwa only reminds you of the days you entered.
4. Money figures are estimates
Expected pay, costs and profit are worked out from what you enter. They are not an official statement from your co-operative or buyer. Check your co-op slip for what you were actually paid.
5. Community board
The community board shows averages from farmers who chose to share. It is for information only. Numbers can be incomplete or out of date.
You may quote and share the published board numbers if you name Maziwa as the source.
6. Content on this website
You may read, print and share our guides for non-commercial use, such as farmer groups and extension work, if you name Maziwa as the source. Please do not sell them or present them as your own.
7. No warranty
We work hard to keep Maziwa correct and available, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees. The app works offline, so keeping your phone and your exports safe is up to you.
8. Limits of our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on estimates, breeding dates, tips or board numbers, or from records being lost with a phone. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Kenyan consumer law.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Big changes will also be shown in the app.
